One of the most valuable pieces of advice I have received about storytelling is something Austin Mann told me after I started an internship at WELD. He spoke into the impact we can have as storytellers and said that "Once we realize the power we have with a camera, we can go anywhere and do anything in the world." This has been one of the statements that has filed my passion for storytelling. I have wasted moments in my life trying to achieve status or recognition with images and it has left me unfulfilled and jealous of others work. But when I focus on the impact that is possible rather than the acceptance it may receive there is little room for disappointment. As a filmmaker I enjoy the visual and written side of the story. I feel am blessed to have an opportunity to make films as a career and will continue to craft stores with the personal impact in mind.
